Biography
I am originally from El Paso, Texas. I earned my B.A. (2017) and M.A. (2020) in history from the University of Texas at El Paso. I belong to the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas, an Indigenous community in Texas. My research explores a new insight never addressed before in the Lipan Apache historiography. It holds a significant role in Native American and Indigenous Studies because it explores how the non-reservation Lipan Apache has upheld and continues to uphold their identity over the decades. My research also examines how white supremacy shapes Texas politics, culture, and society, which led to countless acts of genocide against Native population in Texas, including my people (the Lipans). I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas at El Paso. I genuinely believe my research will open a new dialogue on Indigenous communities at the US-Mexico Borderlands.
[Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas is not in any way associated with or part of the organization the Lipan Apache Band of Texas]
